Amoco Building

Height to roof: 346 meters
Date built: 1973
Use: Office
Location: Chicago, IL
Architect: Edward Durrell Stone

This is a solid metal souvenir replica of the famous Amoco Building of Chicago. Everyone has the Sears Tower, now you can round out your Chicago shelf with #2. Overall height measures 4.3". The base of this cool paperweight measures 2.0" x 1.25". On the front, the base reads in raised lettering, "Amoco". On the back, "Chicago". Left side, "1973" and right side, "346M".

This is one juggernaut of a building! Most people only get the street level view because there is no observation deck. Chicago's second tallest building, the Amoco Building rises 80 stories above the city. The building is square in plan, clad in vertical piers of white Carrara marble. In 1990 the building's marble facade was replaced with Mt Airy granite.
